The purpose of a weblog – or blog – is for providing an opportunity for readers, listeners and visitors to express their thoughts, their frustrations, their opinions and any other feeling they want to express either in anonymous form or otherwise.
The purpose of The Ellis County Press is to Defend Truth and Freedom. The purpose of The Ellis County Observer is to provide a forum that is open 24 hours per day, seven days per week, 365 days a year, for the sole reason of allowing debate, discussion, opinion-sharing and venting on a wide array of topics or personalities.
What you will read on the ECO is a combination of news, opinion, analysis, graphical and statistical information, as well as an assortment of others’ views. The blog and its contributors and its publisher (me) fully expect readers to make up their own mind as to what or what is not “truth.” However, supporting documents, charts, graphs, public records and other vital information will be provided – and has been provided – to back up numerous claims posted.
It is not the fault of the ECO if you are offended or cannot make independent judgments, but rather, it is a place for those views to congregate and flourish without the threat of censorship (there are very rare exceptions) and reprisal.
